OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is now accepting applications for membership on its Shooting Range Public Advisory Committee, which evaluates shooting range grant applications for the department.

Applications are available from WDFW at 360-902-8408 and must be completed and returned by June 2.

Since 2002, WDFW has coordinated federal grants for shooting ranges that promote recreational shooting in a safe and educational environment. Members of the public advisory committee help rank grant applications before the department makes its recommendations to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

A one-day training session will be held in June to provide new members of the advisory with an overview of the program and its responsibilities.
