Polihale State Park Camping Area Reopens After Water Leak is Repaired
LIHU‘E — The Polihale State Park camping area on the west coast of Kaua‘i was reopened late Friday night, May 30 by the Dept. of Land and Natural Resources following repair of an underground break in the waterline.
“Water service to the park is restored,” said Laura H. Thielen, DLNR chairperson. “We thank the public for their patience and understanding during this brief interruption.” State Parks personnel reached a local family who had a permit to camp at the park on Saturday night and informed them that the camping areas were again open. They were able to camp over the weekend.
Only four campers under a single permit were affected by the closure.
