Coastal Fall Chinook Temporary Regulations To Be SetSalem, Ore. — The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission today directed ODFW to implement temporary fishing rules for coastal fall chinook salmon, and at the same time to consider modifications to original staff proposals.

Department staff will reevaluate bag limit and area closure options for the Coos River/Bay and Isthmus Slough fisheries based on public comments made at the meeting.

The final temporary regulations for the 2008 coastal fall chinook in terminal, bay and river fisheries will be finalized in the next few weeks, and will go into effect on August 1.
