Brandywine Creek State Park WILMINGTON, Del.  – There are only a few spaces left for the second event in the 2008 Delaware State Parks Adventure Race Series. Clash with the Creek begins with a pre-race meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Brandywine Creek State Park.

In this team event, participants will have the chance to test their strength and skills canoeing the Brandywine Creek, mountain biking through the park, and tackling the orienteering course. Prizes will be awarded in different categories.

This is the fourth season for the Adventure Race Series, which was designed for athletes of any skill level.  The series opened with the Fish Hawk Challenge on May 31 at Cape Henlopen State Park with a record-breaking number of competitors.

The third race in the series will be the Baldcypress Challenge, also a team event, on July 5 at Trap Pond State Park. The series continues with the Dick’s Sporting Goods Millpond Challenge at Lums Pond State Park on Aug. 2, followed by the newest race in the series – Bring It on at Bellevue, another team event on Sept. 20 at Bellevue State Park. The ever-popular Kickin’ It at Killens wraps up the series on Oct. 11 at Killens Pond State Park with a new twist this year: the final race is designed for either teams or individuals.
