Photo By Tom GrahamCHEYENNE– Wyoming Wildlife Magazine is now accepting entries for the 2008 photo contest featuring images taken in Wyoming.

Photographers can compete in several categories including Wildlife, Scenic-Pictorial, Recreational Activities and Flora.  Entries for all categories except flora will have both color and black and white divisions.  Flora entries must be color.

The grand prize winner will receive $300.  First place in each category will be awarded $150, second $100 and third $50.   Winning entries will be featured in the April 2009 issue and noteworthy entries may also be selected for the April essay issue.

Entries must be either 8×10 inch color or black and white prints or 35 millimeter or larger transparencies.  Digital images must also be submitted in 8×10 inch print format.  Wyoming Wildlife requires that editing of digital images be limited to burning, dodging, eliminating dust spots, etc.  Photographs in which content has been altered, (elements eliminated, added, rearranged, etc.) will not be accepted.

Wyoming Wildlife editor Chris Madson said that an increasing number of entries are submitted from digital photographs.  Madson said sharpness of image is extremely important and that photographers would be wise to use a high quality photo paper as opposed to plain paper for best possible reproduction that will most accurately capture the original subject.

Entry forms and contest rules are available in the September, October and November issues of Wyoming Wildlife and on the Game and Fish Web site.  Deadline for entering the contest is Dec. 1, 2008.

Wyoming Wildlife is available on newsstands or by subscribing at (800) 710-8345 for $12.95 for a year.
