White Pine Snowmobile Trail Partially Closed Into Snowmobile SeasonThe Department of Natural Resources announced today that the White Pine Trail in southern Wexford County will be temporarily closed to repair a wash-out of the trail bed. The project includes installing large boulders and stabilizing materials to repair damage caused by erosion.

This project is funded from a grant provided by the Recreation Improvement Fund. The closure will impact the trail between the south end of 39 Mile Road and the west end of 52 Mile Road near the Wexford-Osceola county line.

While a detour has not been posted, both Wexford and Osceola counties allow the operation of snowmobiles at the extreme right of the open portion of the right-of-way, with the flow of traffic, in a single file manner. The DNR anticipates the trail will be reopened by Dec. 8.
