Ice Fishing Clinic Set for Michigan Fisheries Visitor Center in Oden Jan. 24The Department of Natural Resources’ Michigan Fisheries Visitor Center in Oden will hold an ice fishing clinic Saturday, Jan. 24, on Crooked Lake. The program begins at 10 a.m. with a 20-minute introduction indoors at the visitor center before participants head to nearby Crooked Lake for a great day of fishing through the ice.

All ages are welcome. Fishing licenses, which are needed by participants age 17 and older, may be purchased at the center.

There will be a limited amount of ice fishing equipment available; participants are encouraged to bring their own. Everyone should dress warmly in many, many layers and wear warm, waterproof boots. Free hot chocolate will be served at the lake.

The Michigan Fisheries Visitor Center is located at 3377 US-31 in Oden, approximately five miles east of Petoskey. For more information, please call (231) 348-0998.
