Joes Valley Reservoir

Slow

Daniel Keller and Roy Marchant fished on Feb. 12 and caught 12 splake, in the 12- to 15-inch range, in three hours. Most of the fish were caught 10 feet below the ice using green paddle bugs or 1.5-inch glow tubes tipped with chub meat. The same day, Paul Birdsey fished using a green foxy jig tipped with a three-inch Gulp minnow. He caught one splake in three hours. Conservation Officer Ben Stearns reported slow fishing. Anglers are urged to be careful on the ice—especially around Seely Creek Bay where warm springs have thinned the ice sheet. This reservoir has special regulations. Please refer to the current Utah Fishing Guidebook.
