White River

Sportsman’s White River Resort (870-453-2424) said the water is clear and at normal levels. Five generators are running. Fishing is good to excellent on Power Bait and sculpins.

Randy Oliver at www.randyoliverguide.com (901-832-1903) said one to two generators are running right now.

Guide Davy Wotton had no report.

Jim Brentlinger at Linger’s Guide Service and Fishing Lodge (870-499-5185) said water levels have been very low for quite a few days. As much as that congregates the fish in smaller areas it also will slow the bite quite a bit. When you find an active group of fish, stay with them and they may very possibly wear you out biting anything you send their way. When the water levels are very low, 1/16- or 1/32-ounce jigs work very well. They sink slower in the shallow water and give the fish a chance to look it over as it is falling. Gold Blue Fox spinners in size 3 work very well in the low water as well.

Walleye and bass are moving into shallow water and biting on suspending stick baits in the creek arms. There also is a deeper bite for bass on Fat Albert grubs and Stingray flat-tailed grubs dragged along the bottom or fished along the bluff banks in 20 to 40 feet of water.
