Fishing Report as of 3/21/2011

LAKE MONROE:

Water temps are in the mid to upper 60s. The bass and crappie reports are excellent. The bass are moving shallow getting ready for the spawn and are holding on shoreline structure and grass. Texas-rigged plastics, jigs and shallow running crankbaits have been best baits. Something with red or purple in color seems to be the ticket with the soft plastics. The crappie are being caught around deeper brush in 6-10 ft of water on minnows. Most fish are averaging well over a pound. The bream reports are picking up as they have moved shallow and getting ready for the spawn.  Crickets or redworms fished under a cork should get you some bites. The catfish bite is fair with a few being caught on liver around laydowns and brushtops.
