Learn fly fishing with your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day at Ridgway State Park
RIDGWAY, Colo. –- You’ve caught the love of your life, now teach her (or him) how to catch fish at a “Fly Fishing with your Sweetie” clinic at Ridgway State Park on Valentine’s Day.
Ridgway Ranger Bill Bruggeman, an expert fly fisherman, will teach the class. It will start at 11 a.m. in the visitors’ center where participants will learn the basics about aquatic biology and fish in Colorado. Then the group will head out to the Uncompahgre River at Pa-Co-Chu-Puk to learn the basics about rods, reels, line, flies and casting techniques. All equipment will be provided; but participants must have a Colorado fishing license.
The class will officially end at 2 p.m., but people are welcome to stay as long as they want.
Don’t have a sweetheart? Come anyway, you never know who you might meet! The class is open to everyone.
The clinic will only be cancelled if the weather is extremely inclement.
