Youth and families are invited to explore the new Suncoast Youth Conservation Center and try fun, hands-on marine activities during the facility’s open house Monday, Jan. 30, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Those attending the free event will have the opportunity to learn how to cast a fishing rod, discover the campus through a scavenger hunt, and experience the Center’s exhibits. In addition, the outdoor classroom space, shared by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the Florida Aquarium, and Tampa Electric, will provide visitors with beautiful views of Newman Branch Creek and opportunities to enjoy fish and wildlife viewing among the mangroves.

The Suncoast Youth Conservation Center External Website is a marine-focused conservation education center on the shores of Tampa Bay that provides exciting learning opportunities for youth and families. It’s part of the Florida Youth Conservation Centers NetworkExternal Website an FWC program dedicated to Creating the Next Generation That Cares about fish and wildlife conservation. This successful program works with 350 partners to introduce kids throughout Florida to fishing, boating, shooting sports and wildlife discovery.
