COLUMBUS, OH -- A crew of 20 Ohio firefighters will leave Columbus at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, to fight a 46,000-acre wildfire at Flathead National Forest in northwest Montana, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

At the request of the U.S. Forest Service, the Ohio Interagency Fire Crew will spend up to two weeks assisting wildfire suppression efforts in the national forest.

Members of the Ohio crew include two ODNR employees, three employees from the U.S. Forest Service, eight from the National Park Service, and seven volunteer firefighters from around the state.

The crews will leave from the State Fire Marshal's Office in Reynoldsburg and travel by bus to Indianapolis, Indiana where they will fly with an Indiana crew to Montana.
