VESSEL LIVERY TRAINING OFFERED IN OKALOOSA COUNTY
September 3, 2003
A two-hour training session is being offered Sept. 9 at Sandestin for businesses that rent personal watercraft or other vessels.
“All businesses or contractors that offer the temporary boater education card must attend this course or one that was offered in 2002,” said Shelly Gurr in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Boating Safety Office. She said the FWC and Personal Watercraft Industry Association will conduct the training.
Gurr said the training session will be held at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, 9300 Emerald Coast Parkway West from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. The session is offered at no cost to livery (vessel rental) businesses and will cover such topics as required safety equipment, insurance requirements, applicable Florida laws, law enforcement issues and several other topics.
Businesses interested in attending can call Gurr at (850) 488-5600 to sign up.
