Game and Fish Proposing Fishing Regulation Changes
 
The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking public comment on four proposed changes for the 2004 Arizona fishing regulations.

Game and Fish Department biologists proposing the following regulation changes:
bulletReducing the bag limit to four channel catfish at Lower Lake Mary, City Reservoir and Sante Fe Reservoir.
bulletClosing Soldier Creek to fishing and converting Coyote/Mamie, Home, and Wildcat creeks to artificial fly and lure, single barbless hooks catch and release waters.
bulletTemporarily closing renovated/repatriated streams Snake Creek, Fish Creek (including Double Cienega and Corduroy creeks), and Bear Wallow Creek for Apache Trout re-establishment and recovery.
bulletAllowing unlimited use of sunfish and carp in waters where they are taken as bait in the Verde River from Sullivan Dam downstream to the Salt River.

The following public meetings have been scheduled:

bulletSept. 9, Tucson 7 to 9 p.m., Game and Fish Department Tucson office, 555 N. Greasewood Road.
bulletSept. 16, Flagstaff 7 to 9 p.m., Game and Fish Department Flagstaff office, 3500 S. Lake Mary Road.
bulletSept. 17, Kingman, 7 to 9 p.m., Game and Fish Department Kingman office, 5325 N. Stockton Hill Road.
bulletSept. 22, Mesa 6 to 9 p.m., Game and Fish Department Mesa office, 7200 E. University.
bulletSept. 23, Pinetop 7 to 9 p.m., Game and Fish Department Pinetop office, 2878 E. White Mountain Blvd.

Written comments will also be accepted at the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Commission Order 40, Fisheries Branch, 2221 W. Greenway Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85023-4399 or e-mail your comments to fishaz@gf.state.az.us.
