Shooting Wizard John Satterwhite Returns to National Hunting and Fishing Days Celebration September 27-28 at Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park
Shooting wizard John Satterwhite is bringing his popular gun shooting demonstration back to the 2003 West Virginia Celebration of Nation Hunting and Fishing Days, September 27 and 28 at Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park near Weston in Lewis County . His skills demonstration has been a major attraction at the celebration for the past few years, and he is returning for several more during both days of the event this year.
The former Olympic shooting star has performed before some of the biggest crowds throughout the United States . Many people come back to see him just to make sure what they saw before really happened. He is the only active trick shooter who hand tosses seven clay targets into the air, raises his shotgun, and hits all seven before they hit the ground.
Satterwhite, an 11-time All-American Team member, is the only shooter ever to win three consecutive U.S. International Clay Target Championships. He has won dozens of shooting championships and earned many shooting sports awards, including 12 medals for the U.S. in world competition (six of which are gold).
The National Hunting and Fishing Days Celebration is sponsored by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources and the West Virginia Wildlife Federation. More than 100 vendors and exhibits will be available. The public is invited to enjoy archery, youth competition, good food, sport dogs, care and cooking of fish and game, shotgun and black powder shooting, and many more activities and door prizes. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children under age 15, and children 3 and under free. For more information call (304) 558-2771.
