AGFC Watchable Wildlife Guide now available
LITTLE ROCK - Want to know where you can see red-tailed hawks, bald eagles, bull elk or a gentle waterfall? It’s all in the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s “Arkansas Watchable Wildlife Guide” now available from the agency.
Arkansas’ variety of wildlife is stunning and its wildlife viewing opportunities are almost limitless. Watching wildlife in Arkansas can increase public knowledge and appreciation of wildlife through activities such as bird identification and backyard bird feeding, wildlife viewing and outdoor photography.
From the rugged beauty of the Ouachita Mountains and the Ozark Plateau to the wide prairie lands of the Gulf Coastal Plain, the “Arkansas Watchable Wildlife Guide” helps direct lovers of the outdoors to 89 prime wildlife viewing areas.
Each viewing site entry contains a description of the site - the general lay of the land, an overview of the kinds of habitats the site contains and unique or representative wildlife at the site. Viewing information includes the best seasons to see wildlife, particular opportunities and occasionally, precautions.
The spiral-bound, full-color book is meant to be an informational tool for newcomers to the activity of wildlife watching as well as veterans of the outdoors.
The “Arkansas Watchable Wildlife Viewing Guide” may be ordered by mail by sending $7 to Publications Sales, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, 2 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.
