Culbertson Mansionís 19th annual haunted house opens October 3

New Albany, Ind.ó Itís back and as much fun as ever. The Culbertson Mansion haunted house is 19 years old this year and will be the site of "Literally, a Haunted House" and scary storytelling.

The haunted house, located in the carriage house behind the mansion, will open at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3, and run every Friday and Saturday through October 31 and November 1. Admission is $8 before 9 p.m. and $10 per person after 9 p.m. The haunted house is not recommended for children under age 8.

Scary storytelling will be held on Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 on the third floor of the mansion. Storytelling sessions begin at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. The stories are suitable for all ages and admission is free.

The ghost tours in the Culbertson Mansion will start Oct. 2 and run every Thursday night at 7:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. Admission is $10 and reservations are required. Each tour is limited to 20 people.

Proceeds from the haunted house help finance the mansionís interior restoration work.

The Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site is part of the Department of Natural Resourcesí Division of State Museums and Historic Sites with 14 sites throughout the state. The site is located in downtown New Albany at 914 East Main Street. Hours are 9 a.m. Ė 5 p.m., Tues. through Sat., and 1 - 5 p.m., Sun. Closed Mon. Admission is free. Donations accepted.
