GLADES COUNTY HUNTER SAFETY COURSE SET

WEST PALM BEACH--If youíre not sure about Floridaís hunting laws and would like to learn more about the legal aspects of hunting in the Sunshine State, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commissionís free Hunter Safety course is for you.
In addition to laws, other subjects covered during the 16-hour course include gun safety, survival, first-aid, wildlife identification, ethics, firearms, ammunition, black powder, wildlife management, marksmanship and archery. Students also attend a range outing, where they will get hands-on experience shooting rifles, shotguns, bows and muzzleloaders.
People of any age can attend, and families are encouraged to come and learn together. ALSO, FOR ANYONE BORN ON OR AFTER JUNE 1, 1975, THIS COURSE IS MANDATORY TO BE ABLE TO PURCHASE A HUNTING LICENSE.
The next course in Glades County will be on October 11 & 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Hunter Safety course will take place at the Robinís Nest RV Park on U.S. 27 about 9 miles north of Moore Haven and 10 miles south of Palmdale. Look for the billboard for Robin's Nest. Attendance on both days is mandatory.
