Public Comments Sought On The Wye Island NRMA Land Unit Plan
Public meeting to be held to solicit input

WYE MILLS, MD (September 29, 2003)—The Maryland Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting to solicit input on a proposed land unit plan for the Wye Island Natural Resources Management Area (NRMA)on Monday, Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Economic Development Center (Room Aud01) at Chesapeake College, located at the intersection of Rt. 50 and Rt. 662 in Wye Mills.

The main goal of the plan is to maintain and enhance the existing improvements at the Wye Island NRMA while educating the public regarding natural resources protection and management. At 6 p.m., the draft plan, associated maps, and other material will be available for public review at the meeting site. At 6:30 p.m., the presentation portion of the meeting will begin with an overview of the plan, which will be followed by a question and answer session.

A 30-day public-comment period will follow this meeting. Written comments will be accepted for the public record during the meeting. Comments can also be sent to Raj Williams, Eastern Region Planning Chief, 580 Taylor Avenue, E-4, Annapolis, MD 21401.
