Garden State Deer Classic
The 2004 Garden State Deer Classic was held January 8 - 11 at the Garden State Outdoor Sportsmen's Show in Edison. Sponsored by the Division of Fish and Wildlife, the Classic featured the outstanding white-tailed deer harvested during the 2002-03 hunting seasons and recognizes the hunters who took them.
A
highlight of the Classic each year is a stunning display featuring some of
New Jersey's largest bucks. The event culminates in an awards ceremony on
Sunday. The venue is ideal both for sportsmen and women and for exhibitors,
drawing 40,000 sporting enthusiasts.
As part of the Deer Classic, division biologists are present the entire time to answer questions and to measure and score deer heads. Hunting equipment manufacturers' pro-staffers will also conduct seminars on various topics.
The Classic has been held in recent years at the New Jersey Convention & Expo Center, Raritan Expo Hall, in Edison. The Outdoor Show features special attractions for entire families, outdoor adventure and experts, thousands of great buys and seminars and guest speakers.
