McCormick’s Creek State Park To Host 5K Run and Walk, Sept. 6

McCormick’s Creek State Park, in cooperation with the Owen Valley YMCA, will host a 5K run and walk on Sept. 6. The race coincides with the Governor’s INShape program. Runners start at 8 a.m. Walkers start at 8:15 a.m.
Advance registration is $30 and ends Aug. 29. Advance registration also includes the park gate fee. Registration is $35 on race day and does not include the park gate fee of $5 for in-state vehicles and $7 for out-of-state vehicles. There will be a one-hour window on the day of the event to register before the events begin. Credit cards are accepted during advance registration; on race day only cash or check will be accepted.
Certificates will be awarded to the top three overall finishers, top male and female runners, and top walker.
To register in advance, call (812) 828-9622 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday; 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday; or stop by the Owen County YMCA, 1111 West State Highway 46, Spencer, Ind.
All advance registrants will receive two T-shirts. T-shirts may not be available to those registering on the day of the race.
