Ouabache State Park To Host Perseids Meteor Shower Party, Aug. 9

Make your wish upon a shooting star as like-minded sky watchers gather at Ouabache State Park to enjoy the annual Perseids meteor shower at 10:30 p.m. on Aug 9.
Stretch out on a blanket or bring a folding chair to watch the night sky light up with shooting stars. Learn about meteors that strike our atmosphere every day, why they show different colors when they streak across the night sky, and why they are not really shooting “stars.”
Participants will meet on the large hill next to the swimming pool. Bringing bug spray is recommended.

There is no fee to participate in the program after paying the normal park admission fee of $5 for in-state vehicles or $7 for out-of-state vehicles.
